S.O.S (Sweat. Open. Stretch)

Slower paced 60 minute therapeutic class done to music and appropriate for all levels. Sweat out toxins and melt away pounds. Open typically tight areas – hips, shoulders, and chest.  Stretch hamstrings, hip flexors and that ever tight and tricky IT band. We will work through a solid series of postures designed to target these typically tight and potentially injury provoking aspects of the body. The room will be warm to allow for the added element of heat to enhance the depth of each posture.

The flow is created by linking a series of postures with the use of traditional vinyasa transitions. It follows the tradition of Ashtanga as Sun Salutations will be practised. Remember to bring you sense of humor because building balancing skills can take years and requires consistent practice & a sustainable sense of humor. Prior Vinyasa experience is helpful.

Gentle Restorative Yoga

A traditional restorative yoga class with fewer postures held for longer periods of time. All postures are done with the support of bolsters and/or blocks, and is a gentle, reclined practise. Focused on releasing negativity and muscle tension, while increasing flexibility and allowing the body a gentle space in which to heal. Restorative classes are warm (but not hot) with blankets, bolsters, straps, and blocks available for use.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a passive, transformative style of yoga that asks participants to hold postures for up to 3 to 8 minutes each. This longer hold is done to strengthen, lengthen, and provide therapeutic release to joints, muscles, ligaments, fascia, and other connective tissues.

Less active than other types of yoga, Yin is mainly done lying down on your mat. The main purpose of Yin yoga is to provide grounding. As you learn to tune out the daily grind and focus on slowing down and listening to your body, you will learn to surrender your mind and body to your practice.
